Channels
A channel connects your project’s agents to a messaging service people already use. Once a channel is connected, messages sent to your bot or number reach the project’s runtime, open a session and get answered by the agent.
Channels are set per project on the Agent Channels page, and an agent’s own Channels tab shows the ones it uses. The project needs a running runtime first.
Supported channels
There are two ways to connect, depending on the service:
| Channel | How it connects | What you provide |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram | Token | Bot token |
| Slack | Token | Bot token and signing secret |
| Discord | Token | Bot token |
| LINE | Token | Channel access token and channel secret |
| QR pairing | A phone with WhatsApp to scan the code | |
| Signal | QR pairing | A phone with Signal to scan the code |
Connect a token channel
Token channels (listed as Push-token channels) use a bot account that you create on the messaging service.
Create the bot on the service
Follow the service’s own steps to create a bot or app and copy its credentials. For Slack you need both the bot token and the signing secret; for LINE, both the channel access token and the channel secret.
Open Agent Channels
Select the project, open Agent Channels and find the service under Push-token channels.
Paste the credentials
Select Connect, paste each value into its field and confirm. The agent connects by itself.
Check the status
The row shows Connected when the runtime has reached the service. Send the bot a test message and watch the agent’s Live activity panel.
A bot token gives full control of that bot. Paste it only into the Console, never into an agent’s instructions or a chat, and rotate it on the service if it is ever exposed.
Pair a QR channel
WhatsApp and Signal (listed as QR-scan channels) link to an existing account on a phone, the same way you would link a desktop app.
Start pairing
Under QR-scan channels, select Pair next to the service. A QR code appears.
Scan it
On the phone, open the messaging app’s linked-devices screen and scan the code. The Console checks every two seconds for the result.
Confirm
When the phone accepts, the Console reports Channel paired and the row shows Connected. If the code expires before it is scanned, select Pair again for a fresh one.
Use a number dedicated to the agent where you can. Every chat that number receives can reach the agent.
Channel status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | Live. Messages flow both ways. |
| Connecting | Starting up, or waiting for a QR code to be scanned. |
| Not connected | Credentials are saved but the channel is not live, or the linked account was logged out. Reconnect or pair again. |
| Error | The runtime could not reach the service. Check the credentials, then restart the runtime from Deployment. |
The Agent Deployment page also lists every connected channel and the total number connected.
Disconnect a channel
Select Disconnect on the channel’s row and confirm. The agent stops sending and receiving on that channel straight away. You can reconnect it later.
Who can manage channels
Any active member of the project can view, connect, pair and disconnect channels.
